The Shape of Dreams

The shape of dreams

The shape of Dreams

A dream can fulfill a wish,

In reality, it seems to be a glitch,

I wonder if reality and dreams can be switched,

But the idea of the ideal world needs to be ditched,

Can we exchange realms, where dreams unfurl?

Yet ideal worlds, we must release, uncurl,

Let reality’s embrace be our guide,

Finding beauty and growth in its stride,

Ever ponder on dreams’ elusive form,

A happy visage, reality adorned,

Or perhaps a veil of wistful sorrow,

Dreamscapes shaped by each interpreter’s borrow,

Can we sculpt the dream, with our hands so nimble,

In an ideal world, where visions assemble,

Yearning for the power to shape our desire,

Yet reality’s bite can sometimes feel dire,

Pondering the form of a dream’s design,

Entrusting experts, their wisdom align,

I’ll let my dream drift in the daylight’s gleam,

No concern for shape, awaiting a new dream’s theme.

About the Poem “The Shape of Dreams”

The poem explores the tension between dreams and reality, highlighting the potential disconnect between what we envision and what can be achieved. It suggests a need to grapple with the limitations of reality and acknowledge that the pursuit of an idealized existence may not align with the complexities and imperfections of the real world.

It explores the concept of dreams having different shapes and interpretations, ranging from joyous masks that conceal reality to daydreams tinged with a touch of sadness. The understanding and perception of dreams are subjective, shaped uniquely by each individual who interprets them.

The poem also explores the desire to shape our dreams and create an ideal world. However, it acknowledges the harshness of reality, which can often present challenges and obstacles to the realization of our dreams.

It reflects the idea of contemplating the shape of a dream but ultimately deciding to leave it to those with expertise and knowledge. As one relinquishes control, allowing the dream to fade away with the passing day, and remains open to welcoming a new dream in due time.
